IBPS refers to Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection. It’s main purpose is to recruit the candidates into various positions namely Probationary Officer, Clerk in Middle Management Scale I,II and III respectively. The Institute yearly issues notifications for selecting the students through organizing a recruitment examination for the above posts. One who strives to be into any of the tied nationalized banks of IBPS should need to possess the prescribed educational qualification before applying to a particular post. However the basic required qualification is a pass in Graduation irrespective of discipline with academic aggregate not below 1st class division. IBPS exam is held in two phases that are named as CWE (Common Written Examination) and Personal Interview. The written test carries 200 marks comprising of five sections, each section has been allotted specific marks. 1/4th penalty of marks are deducted for every wrong answer. IBPS assigns cut off marks in each section in order to be stated as qualified. Applicants are required to score the marks above cut off in all the papers, basing on merit score, the Institute would release a provisional list for processing the shortlisted candidates to interview. 20% weightage is being given to interview and the final list of students who got selected as Officer Scale General Banking Officer or PO shall be appointed and given training for one year which is termed as Probationary period.  The remuneration offered during training will be differed to the pay scale given after the completion of training period.
